Recently, the fourth meeting of the Ukrainian–Emirati Intergovernmental Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation took place in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates). The session was co-chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Taras Kachka and UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem Ibrahim Al Hashimy. About this reports Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration.
The meeting focused on the development of bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of trade and investment.

The parties discussed the development of bilateral trade following the ratification of the CEPA agreement, the role of chambers of commerce and business associations, as well as cooperation in the industrial sector. Promising areas of cooperation in space technologies were identified separately.
The session also addressed investment, development, logistics, and transport. In particular, the parties considered attracting investors to the Ukrainian economy in the fields of logistics, infrastructure, energy, technological and industrial development. Following the agreements reached, it was decided to establish a bilateral working group on investment.
Particular attention was paid to the agricultural sector — specifically the prospects for expanding trade and deepening cooperation between producers.

In the field of healthcare, the parties discussed strengthening cooperation through direct engagement between the relevant ministries and the exchange of expertise.
The issue of cooperation in culture, youth, and sports was also raised. The discussion focused on launching interaction in the humanitarian sphere to strengthen people-to-people contacts and mutual understanding between societies.
“We view the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between Ukraine and the United Arab Emirates as a key enhancement of our further cooperation. The agreement covers not only trade in its classical form, but also services, investment, the digital economy, and other areas that shape the economy of the future. We are committed to completing its ratification and practical implementation in the near future. We see significant potential for attracting investment from the UAE in the development of logistics, port and transport infrastructure, energy transformation, as well as technological and industrial growth in Ukraine. These are investments not only in the reconstruction of our state, but also in a sustainable, green, and globally integrated future,” Taras Kachka emphasized following the Commission’s meeting. Reem Ibrahim Al Hashimi noted that not only infrastructure projects, but above all human capital, will play a key role in Ukraine’s reconstruction. According to her, it is precisely people and their expertise, particularly in high-tech sectors, that shape long-term global interest in Ukraine.
The parties agreed that the adopted arrangements will serve as the basis for further development of Ukrainian–Emirati partnership, growth of bilateral trade, and implementation of joint projects. The next, fifth meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission is planned to be held in Ukraine.
