Ukraine and Algeria have agreed the forms of veterinary certificates, opening three new markets for the export of cattle to the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, as reported by the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection.
The decision is the result of joint work by the State Service on Food Safety and Consumer Protection, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Ukrainian diplomatic missions and the relevant ministries, in cooperation with the Veterinary Service of Algeria’s Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries.
The following documents have been agreed:
-
a veterinary health certificate form for the export of beef cattle to Algeria;
-
a sanitary and veterinary certificate form for the export of breeding cattle to Algeria;
-
a veterinary health certificate form for the export of cattle for fattening to Algeria.
“Opening three new channels for cattle exports to Algeria is an important result of the State Service’s systematic work. In total, 5 new markets have been opened for Ukrainian products of animal origin since the beginning of the year, creating additional opportunities for domestic producers and strengthening Ukraine’s position in international trade,” said Serhii Tkachuk, Head of the State Service on Food Safety and Consumer Protection.
The Service notes that opening new export channels is a step towards deeper trade and economic cooperation between Ukraine and Algeria and confirms that Ukrainian products meet the veterinary requirements of the importing country.
The agreed veterinary certificate forms have been published on the State Service’s official web portal under “International Cooperation” — “Veterinary Medicine and Safety” — “Certificates for Export from Ukraine”.
