The Ukrainian association Kalyna in Morocco has announced the founding of a Ukrainian Cultural and Educational Centre in Casablanca. The announcement came at the annual meeting of the Ukrainian community at Ukraine’s embassy in Morocco, the embassy said in a Facebook post.
The centre will host educational, artistic and cultural events and help people learn the Ukrainian language, literature, history and traditions. It will focus on children and young people, who are expected both to keep their ties with Ukraine and to act as a bridge between the two countries. The embassy and the association signed an agreement on cooperation and support for the centre. No opening date has been announced.
Participants also discussed working with Moroccans who studied at Ukrainian universities and who, they said, keep a personal connection with Ukraine and help strengthen friendship between the two peoples.
